The Colletta Fagotto

The Cultural Association of Colletta di Castelbianco, in collaboration with the Comune of Castelbianco and Borgo Telematico srl, is continuing the new Spring/Summer calendar of events by inviting everyone to join them for a May Day celebration, in the form of a picnic based on salami and broad beans, bruschette and cheese, together with good wine and music.

The date is for Thursday, May 1st, from 10.00 until 20.00, in Colletta's piazzetta. Here we shall be distributing "fagotti", large checked cloths, tied at the corners, used in the past to carry simple open-air food. We shall be continuing this ancient peasant tradition by inviting many well-known, local producers from the region to set up stalls and display & sell their wares along the streets of Colletta. Among those present will be the renowned market gardeners such as Mauro Sandri, Marco Ferrero and Mariagrazia Briozzo, as well as the wine producers Claudio Vio and Cascina Feipu dei Masseretti, and Sandro Gagliolo, the olive-oil producer.

Come and enjoy delicious local vegetables from Albenga, such as purple asparagus, spiny artichokes, courgette flowers and beef tomatoes, as well as local wine and olive oil.

Finally, on Saturday May 3rd, Giorgio, the new chef in the Osteria Trapassatomoderno, invites you all to a dinner with the same theme, when he will serve local delicacies prepared from the above mentioned products.
